As a young woman leading an active and busy life, it can be difficult to stay motivated to exercise. Between work responsibilities, social obligations, and outings, finding the time and energy to exercise regularly can be challenging. However, physical activity is a key element for mental and physical health.

Here are 8 tips that we have tested and that work for us, to help you stay motivated to exercise:

  1. Set SMART goals

Your goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely, to increase your chances of success. This type of goal gives you a specific action plan to follow and allows you to track and measure your progress while staying motivated and focused on your ultimate goal. When it's time for training, get dressed and go train without asking any questions.

  2. Schedule your workout sessions

Plan your sessions in advance and put them in your calendar. When you have a workout plan, know what you are going to do and when, it is much easier to commit, even on days when you are less motivated.

  3. Find a workout partner

Find someone who shares your interest in physical activity and can encourage you to reach your goals. Having a workout partner can be a source of motivation and engagement while making your workout more fun.

  4. Vary your workout sessions

Boredom can be a discouraging factor when it comes to training. Vary your workouts by including different types of exercises and trying new physical activities. You can try new sports, vary between training outdoors, at home and in the gym. You can also follow a youtube video, sign up for group classes or virtual workouts. This can make your workout more interesting and challenging, as well as reducing the mental load of figuring out what exercises to do each day.

  5. Reward yourself!

After reaching a goal or an important milestone in your workout program, or simply at the end of a period of physical activity. Treat yourself, you deserve it girl! It can be as simple as a good smoothie or a new activewear outfit. This will undoubtedly give you extra motivation to continue working hard and achieving your long-term goals through positive reinforcement.

  6. Be flexible, and constant!

Listen to your body and adapt your workout program according to your menstrual cycle and energy levels. It's a beautiful form of self-care! Don't hesitate to decrease the intensity and duration of your workout; the main goal is always to move your body at least a little bit each day to benefit from the benefits. It is important to give yourself this flexibility to maintain good motivation and avoid frustration related to overload or fatigue.

  7. Create a motivating music playlist

Music can play an important role in your motivation during your workout. Create a playlist of motivating music that corresponds to your workout style. Choose songs with a fast tempo and inspiring lyrics to give you a boost of energy when you need it. By having a motivating music playlist at hand, you can turn your workout into a more enjoyable and energetic experience.

  8. Invest in activewear clothing

Wearing comfortable and flattering activewear clothing can help you feel good about your body and motivate you to exercise regularly. Invest in quality workout clothes that are suitable for your type of physical activity and that give you confidence. You can also use the purchase of new activewear clothes as a reward for your achievements!

By following these 8 tips, you greatly increase the chances of being more motivated in working out. Moving also secretes endorphin hormones, a natural morphine produced by our body. The more we train, the more our body demands, which creates a vicious cycle of additional motivation to train and feel good.

Now put on your best workout set and get moving!
This is your sign to prioritize yourself and your well-being xx
